This page starts at the Hunting
Lodge at Cimmaroncito, and goes through Webster's Park to Clarks Fork.
Two days of trail on one page; such a deal!
We started our hike from Lamberts Mine at with a nice mile through
verdant scenery downhill to the Hunting Lodge. We stopped there for a
short tour of Waite Phillips's old lodge, which was one of Philmont's 4
original camps. A little way more and we arrived at Cimmaroncito. After
program, we packed our way to Webster's Park. What a GREAT camp!! The
camp sites were well apart, the views gorgeous, the sky dry ("the
fly is dry" became the chant) and the crew was seasoned. Camp went
up fast and good time were had. The night there was wonderful too!

Howdy! Mrs. S. sure looks good in those stylish ole' time
western duds. |
|

Actually, quite good. |
|

Inside the hunting lodge, a high stakes games of
dominos was riveting the attention of many of the collected
(Minnesota and Crew 566) scouts. |
|

While just outside, Ian and the Deepster take a quick
catnap. |

Beautiful valley near Cito where the crew went rock
climbing, played volleyball and just hung. |
|

This is the mail drop at Ute Gulch. The crews oldest advisors went
down, down, down from Cito to Ute Gulch to get the crews food
for the next few days.
Then they lugged 70 pounds of food up, up,
and up.
Did I say "up"? |

William rests before making camp. |

The following morning, some deer came by for a salt lick. |

Four crew enjoy a moment without packs. |

Cathedral rock and the reservoir that is the water supply
for the city of Cimmaron. |
|

So inviting, so refreshing, so off limits... |
|

... hey you guys, get your pinkies out of the water! And
wipe those smiles off your faces! |

Note "Phil" our balloon mascot... not to be
outdone by our Minnesota shadow crew... who had their own
"Phil". |

At Clarks Fork, they make the mushrooms out of bronze. |

Sibling cowpokes. |
|

This is all the picture I could get of the entertainment at
Clarks Fork. Who is that guy, anyway? |
